AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY ENTRIES WIN IN VARIETY OF CATEGORIES

The 1967 Camero roll-out was a CINDY winner for the producer, Sandy Corporation.  Ross Roy Communications likewise received a CINDY for the Dodge Viper introduction.  The 2012 Volkswagen line introduction earned Campos Creative a CINDY.   In 2016, CINDY Winners included a commercial for Indian Motorcycle’s introduction of their Scout Sixty model produced by Team One Advertising and two sales and training submissions from Designory for the Infinity Q60Tilling Productions, London, picked up a CINDY for “Castrol Heritage” in the employee communications category.

GRAMMYS WON A CINDY

In 1996, NARAS had a CD-ROM produced and distributed of all GRAMMY winners that year.  It received a Gold CINDY Award in Interactive Media.

JOHN CLEESE COMEDY AWARD TBA February 20th

Since 1989, this award has been presented to a production for conveying a message using humor.  The John Cleese Comedy Award is one of six “Special Awards” that will be announced over the next three weeks.

2016 STUDENT PRODUCTION WINNERS

CINDY winning student productions came from a variety of institutions including George Mason University, Ball State, Farleigh Dickinson University, Missouri State, William Patterson University, the School of Visual Arts-NYC and the Community College of Philadelphia.  Since 1959, over 80 colleges and universities world-wide have received CINDY Awards.

NALIP & NBPC big winners

The National Association of Latino Independent Producers and the National Black Programming Consortium received their very first CINDY awards for broadcast programming.

HISTORIC CINDY MOMENT

On March 25, 1960, Master of Ceremonies Ronald Reagan presented awards at the 2nd Annual CINDY Award banquet held at the Statler-Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles.  Winners included IBM Corp., Southern Pacific Railroad, Lockheed, US Air Force, Sears and the Milwaukee Gas Light Co.  Sustaining member Consolidated Film Industries celebrated their 40th anniversary with a full-page ad on the back of the banquet program

CINEMA IN INDUSTRY

Since 1959, the coveted CINDY Award has been presented to thousands of producers world wide.

SPECIAL AWARD ANNOUNCEMENTS
The Special Award winners for 2016 will be announced over the next 4-6 weeks.  These include the Robert Townsend Social Issues Award, the John Cleese Comedy Award and five others.  All CINDY entries are automatically eligible to win any Special Award.  For more details, go to: http://cindys.com/special-awards/

PUBLIC BROADCASTING WINNERS FOR 2016
For years, PBS, their affiliates and contract producers creating content for public broadcasting have been winning CINDY Awards.  Among these are KUED-Salt Lake City, David Isay (of “Story Corp”), WNET-New York, Peter Argentine, KQED- San Francisco, Maria Hinojosa (of “Latino USA”) and KPBS-San Diego.  2016 winners include Vulcan Productions, WLIW-New York, Nebraska Educational Network Learning Services, WNED-Buffalo, the National Black Programming Consortium, WGBH-Boston, Central Sound at Arizona PBS and the National Association of Latino Independent Producers.

STOCK FOOTAGE LIBRARY USE AWARD WILL DEBUT IN 2017
Beginning with the Spring International CINDY Event, the exceptional use of stock footage will be honored.  The new award will be formatted along the lines of our “Stock Music Library Use Award” in that the content producer and the footage library utilized will both be recognized.  We will announce one top production and two runners-up each year.  All entries in both the Spring and Fall International events, as well as the 14 Regional events will be eligible to win.  Winners will be announced in February, 2017.

PRODUCTION MUSIC AWARD ADDED RUNNERS-UP IN 2016
This is the third year for the Stock Library Production Music Award.  This Special CINDY Award not only recognizes the producer but the library used in the winning entry as well.  For the first time this year two runner-ups will also be recognized.

ROBERT TOWNSEND AWARD RECOGNIZES CONTENT DEALING WITH SOCIAL ISSUES

Actor, director, producer Robert Townsend has been on the forefront of social commentary for many years.  This award, presented since the early 1990’s, honors a production dealing with a serious issue facing society or documenting a solution to a problem.  Content has covered a wide range of issues from American race relations and HIV/AIDS to immigration and global warming.  The goal of the Robert Townsend Social Issues Award is to draw attention to these important issues and for the people who find solutions and bring about positive change.
